Stellantis FaSTLAne 2030, STLA One, and Global Investment in a Multi-Energy Future

FaSTLAne 2030 is a five-year, €60 billion plan laid out by Stellantis in May 2026 to simplify how the company builds and powers its vehicles.

STLA One is a new global architecture from Stellantis that folds five platforms into one to cut cost and complexity while supporting gas, hybrid, and electric vehicles from a single modular base. It is how Stellantis intends to stay competitive without locking itself into one powertrain, and how it plans to give customers the freedom to choose how their vehicles are powered.

STLA One

On its own, STLA One is designed to scale to more than 30 models and over two million units a year by 2035, targeting a 20% cost reduction. By 2030, Stellantis expects half its global volume to ride on three shared platforms, with up to 70% component reuse.

STLA One is a clear example of a truly modular strategy, giving us the flexibility of a multi-energy platform without carrying inefficiencies from one propulsion system to another.” - Ned Curic, Chief Engineering and Technology Officer.

STLA One covers subcompact, compact, and midsize cars and crossovers (B, C, and D segments). Meanwhile, full-size trucks and SUVs like the Ram 1500 and Jeep Wagoneer use a separate platform, STLA Frame, a body-on-frame architecture built for the size, towing, and payload of full-size vehicles.

STLA Brain provides the scalable central computing and software architecture that connects the vehicle's electronic systems and supports software-defined functions and over-the-air updates.

STLA SmartCockpit delivers the in-vehicle digital experience, including connected, personalized interfaces, and services. STLA AutoDrive is Stellantis' scalable automated-driving system. STLA One is the first Stellantis platform slated to integrate STLA Brain and STLA SmartCockpit, along with steer-by-wire technology.

Stellantis plans to launch STLA One in 2027.

Stellantis Invests Globally

As part of its FaSTLAne 2030 push in North America, Stellantis is investing $13 billion in new products, plants, and people across the United States, the largest single investment in its history, adding more than 5,000 jobs and funding five all-new vehicles and 19 product refreshes through 2029 across plants in Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana.

In addition, Stellantis is continuing forward with its record investment plan for the South American region totaling €5.6 billion, announced in early March 2024. To date, it is the largest investment in the history of the Brazilian and South American automotive industry. Stellantis plans to support the launch of more than 40 new products between now and 2030, along with new bio-hybrid and decarbonization technologies.

Stellantis is forming a new European joint venture with China's Dongfeng, building the partner's vehicles at the Stellantis Rennes plant, and expanding its Leapmotor International JV to build Leapmotor EVs at the Madrid and Zaragoza plants. Stellantis is also working with India's Tata Motors across Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, and South America, and exploring a product and technology collaboration with Jaguar Land Rover in the U.S.

The Discover Stellantis YouTube series showcases internal investment in the form of thought leadership. The series features engineers, designers, and brand leaders describing how decades of innovation and customer feedback shape what each of its 14 brands builds next.

60 New Vehicles by 2030

About 60% of the €60 billion goes to brands and products, funding more than 60 new vehicles and 50 refreshes by 2030. North America gets 11 of those all-new models, including seven priced under $40,000. The other 40% goes to global platforms, powertrains, and technology like STLA One and STLA Brain.

Jeep and Ram are two of the four global brands set to get most of the investment, alongside Peugeot and Fiat. Stellantis is also targeting a 24-month development cycle with €6 billion in annual cost cuts by 2028, and revenue growth from €154 billion to €190 billion by 2030.

“We have great people, global scale, unmatched brands, deep regional roots, and strong dealer partnerships. Combined with innovation, execution, and win-win partnerships, those strengths position us to deliver on our FaSTLAne 2030 ambitions—moving people with brands and products they love and trust.” - Antonio Filosa, Stellantis CEO
