Full self-driving vehicles, in-car payment systems, and smart home ecosystem integration are among the innovations the Harris Poll identifies as part of the "next wave" in its 2026 AutoTECHCAST study, an annual survey of more than 10,000 U.S. consumers examining which automotive technologies are most likely to drive purchase decisions and brand loyalty.
The 2026 findings also show how younger generations have placed increasing importance on technology over the past decade, citing it as a deciding factor in which make and model they choose, and why.
Join AV Radio host Carl Anthony as he sorts through key data points from the 2026 AutoTECHCAST survey, comparing and contrasting the findings with his own experience of brand loyalty growing up in a small rural Iowa community in the 1990s.
